I’m a husband and father that is humbled by the blessing to get to introduce young people to Jesus Christ.  Prior to serving as a coordinator, I taught 4th grade in public schools for many years.  Teaching was certainly rewarding, but nothing can be as rewarding as helping a person encounter Jesus and the beauty of our Church.  It’s my prayer that our Ut Fidem groups will be a safe place where students can encounter Jesus through prayer, open dialogue, and accountability found in Christian brotherhood.

Jesus first pierced my heart when I was a junior at Dowling Catholic High School. Little did I know that would be life changing for me and I would come back and serve for the same ministry that shaped me! Serva Fidem came into my life that year at an instrumental time and allowed me to soar in discipleship in my college years at Iowa State. My desire is to serve students who have that same longing of wanting something more and ultimately realizing that “it is Jesus who you seek when you dream of happiness!” (JPII)

In high school, Serva Fidem became an answer to that prayer. The friendships I formed provided me with strong foundation that led me deeper and deeper into friendship with Christ – something I had been searching for my whole life. I’m excited to bring this same life-changing program to new places and people!"

I have been blessed by God with a wonderful wife and five great children. I have worked in ministry for 20 years in archdiocesan, parish, youth ministry, and teaching theology in a Catholic high school. In my years of ministry I have been able to be part of many programs, retreats, and service opportunities and I am excited for what Serva Fidem can bring to the Columbus Catholic school community. God made us as social creatures, and I love that this program can help our youth grow in faith-filled friendships.

Hey guys! I’m Katie Hopping, a Council Bluffs, Iowa native returning to my roots at Saint Albert Catholic School after getting my bachelors degree at University of Northern Iowa in 2021 and serving for 4 wonderful years as a missionary with FOCUS! 

I’m overjoyed to receive the opportunity to be the Campus Minster and Serva Fidem Coordinator with a community that is truly dear to my heart. 

I’m looking forward to being apart of what tremendous wonders the Lord is already doing at SA and I can’t wait for the great adventure ahead.

My name is Lilly Boenker, and I'm a cradle Catholic from a small farm in Missouri, just an hour outside of St. Louis. Now a resident of the great state of Iowa, I have taught English and am now the Campus Minister at Xavier High School in Cedar Rapids, IA. I have slowly fallen more in love with Jesus every year, especially during my graduate studies at the Augustine Institute in Denver, where I received my Masters in Pastoral Theology. I want all people to know the unique love that Jesus Christ has for each one of us. St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta, pray for us!

My name is Izzy and I have the opportunity to serve as Serva Fidem Coordinator at Aquinas Catholic High School in La Crosse, WI. I had a personal encounter with Jesus when I was in high school and was able to get plunged into a small group which changed the trajectory of my life. The support and community of a small group challenged me and drew me deeper into the heart of Christ. When this opportunity was presented to me to be coordinator, I knew the Lord was inviting me to be a vessel of His love in this particular way! I cannot wait to see the abundant ways the Lord pours out his grace on this ministry.

Addie has been with Serva Fidem for 9 years. In 2017, she started the first Serva Fidem groups at Dowling Catholic and brought the model to flourishing there. She is a graduate of the College of Saint Benedict/Saint John's in Minnesota, and lives in the Des Moines area with her husband, Drew, and their daughter.

Nathan is an alumnus of Dowling Catholic in West Des Moines, IA. He studied philosophy at the University of Saint Thomas, Saint Paul, Minnesota and earned his Master's in Social Thought at the University of Chicago
